MEET OUR ASSISTANT PASTOR
Orville Anthony Bulgin
Pastor Orville Anthony Bulgin was born in Kingston Jamaica and is the second of three boys born to the late Charles E. Bulgin and Naomi Campbell. Pastor Bulgin grew up around ministers and two of his uncles served the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists with years of devoted ministry.
Under the careful Christian guidance of his late grandparents, Sarah and Lenard Bulgin, Orville was raised to know the Lord, grow in faith, and follow the path of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Born into a family with a rich heritage of Pastors and church planters he grew to love God and develop skills he would need for ministry. Pastor Bulgin forged and grew as a young Christian but in his late teens and early twenties, social and economic circumstances forced him to choose a different career path. But as he grew on, he could resist no longer that urge; that fire in the bones; that calling to fulfill God's purpose in his life. Looking back, Pastor Bulgin realizes that even when it didn't seem like it, God was always with him: molding and shaping his steps, and leading him back to the path to which he had called him. Wherever he went, Pastor Bulgin remained active in the church. Orville continued to develop a close personal relationship with God and finally accepted the calling which God had placed in his life.
In 2008, putting his then life on hold as an entrepreneur, he attended Mission College of Evangelism. While there he was given the ultimatum by his then business associates to return and finish his contractual duties. However, he decided to move forward believing in the words of God which states in Luke 9:32 “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the Kingdom of God.” He continued his studies and went on to receiving an Applied Ministries Diploma. Shortly after graduation he received a call to Minnesota where he worked as a lay evangelist for Pastor Bill Nixon. He then went on to attend the Seventh-day Adventist theological seminary at Andrews University where he overcome major health challenges to graduate with a Master of Divinity degree. Orville has an evangelist's heart with a focus on preaching and teaching the word of God in a way that is easy to understand. His burden is to empower the church of God
by emphasizing the "Plain Gospel" teaching outreach evangelism and holistic health, through seminars, cooking classes, and individual consultations.
While at Andrews University, Orville worked as an Associate Pastor at the Goshen Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chicago under the leadership of Senior Pastor Gordon Fraser. He also served at the Battle Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church under the leadership of Pastor Denry White. While at Battle Creek, Pastor Bulgin held an evangelistic crusade where ten souls gave their lives to the Lord.
Since returning to New York after obtaining his Master of Divinity degree, Pastor Bulgin has also worked as a Bible worker with the Community Worship Center (CWC) under the leadership of Dr. Abraham Jules where an evangelistic crusade in 2015 yielded 160 newly baptized souls.
Pastor Bulgin is blessed with a loving family. His wife of twelve years, Taisha Bulgin, RN, is a "daughter" of Northeastern Conference, having grown up in the Adventist faith, she "brightens the corner where she is." She is an accomplished musical artist and Registered Nurse. A member of The Holmes Sisters Gospel Group with her sisters Janeth and Kimberly, she has ministered throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. She has been featured on the popular 3ABN television station both as a performing artist and in a featured Healthy Cooking Show with her sisters. Pastor Bulgin and his wife have been blessed with three children: Sarah Janet, 11, Orville, Jr., (lost at birth), and Samuel Edward Lee, 6.
Pastor Bulgin is passionate about God, and motivated to introduce as many people to the Kingdom of God. He strongly believes that we cannot shown challenges in life, but believe in the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet in Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.”
