He is a graduate of Oakwood University (B.A. in Theology, 1982) and Andrews University (M.Div., 1991), with a ministry career spanning over four decades of dynamic leadership, evangelism, and pastoral care.
He began his pastoral journey in the Northeastern Conference, serving at Hanson Place Church in Brooklyn as Associate Pastor and later Interim Senior Pastor. From 1986 to 1990, he led the Hudson Valley District, where his leadership resulted in more than 200 baptisms, the renovation of three church buildings, and the launch of the Your Bible Speaks radio broadcast.

In 1990, Pastor Nixon answered a call to the Southeastern California Conference, pastoring Juniper Avenue Church in Fontana and later Valley Fellowship Church in Rialto. During this time, the churches experienced significant growth in baptisms, membership, and tithe, and he founded a School of Lay Evangelism. His ministry continued in the Allegheny East Conference, where he developed a Small Groups ministry and conducted evangelistic series throughout Maryland.
Pastor Nixon later served as Administrative Chaplain and Associate Pastor at Andrews University’s Pioneer Memorial Church and as Senior Pastor of New Life Fellowship, where he inspired students and congregants to embrace active, purpose-driven faith. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Andrews University in 2010 and completed advanced training in Clinical Pastoral Education at Loma Linda University Hospital, along with studies in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling at Chapman University.
He has preached, taught, and conducted revivals, evangelistic series, and seminars across the United States and internationally. In addition, he has served as a professor at Andrews University, teaching Youth Ministry, Public Evangelism, and Homiletics.
From 2014 to 2018, Pastor Nixon served as Executive Secretary and COO of the Lake Region Conference before returning to pastoral ministry. He later served as Senior Pastor of the Niles Philadelphia and All Nations–Berrien Springs SDA Churches.
On January 27, Pastor Timothy Nixon was installed as Senior Pastor of the Linden Adventist Church. He brings with him a heart for people, a commitment to spiritual growth, and a passion for spreading the Gospel. Central to his life and ministry is his wife, his steadfast partner in faith and service. Together, they exemplify a Christ-centered marriage and ministry team.
